Catholic Social Teaching

Catholic Social Teaching at Our School

At our school, Catholic Social Teaching is at the heart of how we live and learn together. Launched last year, this whole-school focus helps our children understand that faith is not only something we learn about, but something we live out through our words and actions each day. Each term, we focus on one key aspect of Catholic Social Teaching, giving pupils and staff a clear, shared value to reflect on and practise. When a member of staff notices a child living out that term’s focus, the child’s name and action are written on a slip and placed on the altar, where they are shared and celebrated during our Friday Celebration Assembly.

These values are displayed prominently in both our school hall and school chapel, ensuring they are always visible and continually referred to throughout the year.

Through this approach, we encourage our children to follow the example of Jesus by loving their neighbour, showing compassion, and working for justice in the world around them.

“Faith is not something to be kept to ourselves. It must be lived, shared and shown in how we care for one another.”
Pope Francis
