Live Simply

At St Louis, we are beginning a special journey with Christ as we work towards CAFOD’s LiveSimply Award. Inspired by the message of Pope Francis and the teachings of Laudato Si’, we are answering the call to care for God’s creation and one another. Together, we will complete nine actions that make a difference within our school, our local community and the wider world, all guided by the principles of Catholic Social Teaching.

The LiveSimply Award encourages our school community to live simply, sustainably and in solidarity with others. Living simply means taking time for prayer, reflection and relationships, and appreciating the beauty of God’s creation. Living sustainably means caring for the Earth and responding to the “cry of the Earth”, as highlighted in Laudato Si’. Living in solidarity means hearing the “cry of the poor” and standing alongside people experiencing poverty around the world.

Through prayer, learning and action, our pupils will help bring these values to life. By taking part in this journey, we hope to grow closer to God, care for our common home and make a positive difference in our school, our community and our global family.

To begin our journey, Eco Club led a special assembly to introduce the whole school to the meaning of living simply.
