Serving our Community

At St Louis, caring for others is woven into everyday school life and is central to our values of being ambitious, brave and caring. Children learn to recognise need wherever it exists — within our school community, locally or across the wider world. They are supported to respond with kindness, generosity and purposeful action. Through these experiences, children come to understand that serving others is a powerful way of putting God’s Word into practice and living out their faith.

We have good links with the local Church and parish priest.

As well as being part of our local parish family, we are proud members of the wider Diocese of Northampton.

Our school serves Bishop David and supports his vision for Catholic education. His episcopal motto, Beati Pauperes Spiritu — “Blessed are the poor in spirit” — reflects the values at the heart of our faith.

The Beatitudes guide our relationship with Jesus Christ and shape the way we live as His disciples, serving and caring for the world around us.

Mini Vinnies support the local foodbank

The Mini Vinnies decided to take action to support people in our community without enough money for food. We chose to donate to our local food bank and invited representatives to our school to deliver an assembly, helping us to learn more about the important work they do. We were overwhelmed by the generosity of our school community. The food bank representatives expressed their sincere gratitude for the support received.

Mini Vinnies Love Christmas Campaign

In the lead up to Christmas, our Mini Vinnies led a special assembly to promote the Diocese of Northampton’s Love Christmas Campaign, encouraging our school community to think of children who may need something extra to smile about on Christmas Day. We were overwhelmed by the generosity shown, as pupils, families and staff donated many thoughtful gifts, helping to spread kindness, hope and the true spirit of Christmas.
